"NFL venues seek 'bigger bang'"
This article talks about how a bunch of NFL stadiums are trying to bring the Rolling Stones to perform at their stadiums. Twelve NFL organizations got together and formed the Gridiron Stadium Network. It’s a non profit group formed to attract more events into their buildings. Right now their focus is on the Rolling Stones because they have a good reputation with the NFL. Last fall “The Stones” helped promote the 2005 season and performed the half time show at super bowl XL. The Gridiron Stadium is now looking to bring in other big name acts to perform rather than them performing in other venues in the area. I think this is a really good idea. If they can convince big name artists to perform at these stadiums then maybe other will follow suite. I also thing this is a great idea for adding revenue to these stadiums. At the very least they will be able to make money in concessions and possibly draw in potential fans for the sporting season. For instance if someone had a negative opinion about the facility they decide not to come to a game but do decide to see their favorite musician and see that the facility is not what they thought they might be more inclined to come and take in a game or two.
