Yahoo! Deal to extend reach of Rivals.com, critiqued by Steve Jackson, v8, i47, pg8

This article is about how Rivals.com has signed a two-year content distribution deal with Yahoo sports, the company’s second major deal in less than four months designed to expand the online reach of the Brentwood, Tenn. Based outfit. Once signing at distribution pact with AOL in Dec., Rivals.com now plans to provide about 70 content items per day to the Yahoo Sports Portal, focusing on its core strength of in depth college sports and recruiting news. About one hundred times per week Rivals.com will provide AOL with this type of service. This without a question posed us closer to the mainstream and opens up a whole new audience for us, says Rivals.com CEO Shannon Terry, the financial terms were not disclosed.
This merger I believe will place Rivals.com on the map where they would like to be. Yahoo is a large server where millions of people us this type of service for business and pleasure. They are looking for best of breed content in everything and seem to relish getting across to the rivals content. The next step that I would see is the need to take the job promoting all their assets, and making people aware of what they have. Meaning Rivals.com is up and coming if you don’t know there name now, just wait, you will learn it.
